The Manchester Food Co-op Celebrates the First Annual Food Day on Monday October 24, 2011. It's Time to Eat Real, America! Food Day, modeled after Earth Day, is a nationwide celebration of real food and an effort to improve health, the environment, and America's food system. It's a grassroots mobilization led by the Center for Science in the Public Interest to push for healthy, affordable food produced in a sustainable, humane way.
The Manchester Food Co-op is sponsoring several Food Day events in our city! We hope you will join us to support this fantastic new initiative

Republic Cafe
9am-9pm
1069 Elm Street, Manchester (across from Hampshire Plaza)

Republic Cafe, the first restaurant in NH to be Certified Local by the New Hampshire Farm to Restaurant Connection, will feature a special three-course menu in addition to their regular menu. The prix fixe menu will use only locally grown or produced products, reaching as far as Maine and Vermont, to illustrate what it really means to eat locally without pulling from flown in produce. Republic's regular menu will be available for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and features local eggs, meats, cheeses, fish and produce. Members of the Manchester Food Co-op will be on hand all day to answer questions about the co-op. Donations of non-perishables will be collected for the New Hampshire Food Bank.
